Move Along Day
At 10:00, in-person students will go to their new classroom to meet their new teacher and classmates.
Remote students and students new to Dunning will attend remotely and will receive an email from students' next year's teacher with a google meet link at 9:45 tomorrow (Monday) morning.
Staffing Updates
I am happy to let you know that we have hired a new first grade teacher, Ms. Sara Vargas. Ms. Vargas comes to us from Wellesley Public Schools, with a Master of Education in Special Education from Boston College and Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University. In addition to a wonderful interview, she come to Dunning with stellar references, which included many statements such as the following.
"Sara’s classroom is one where children feel safe and able to take risks, enabling them to learn and progress at their own pace, while building a love of school and connectedness to each other. Sara puts into practice her deep knowledge and understanding of the developmental needs of young children, greatly contributing to this classroom climate. Her behavior management skills are based on developing strong relationships with students, clear expectations, structure, and her pure joy of teaching and working with children."
Chromebook Return Information from the Office of Technology
As we look forward to the next school year 2021-2022, we have a few quick announcements:
- Students in grades K -11 will keep their chromebooks this summer to help with summer reading and/or summer programs offered by Framingham Public Schools.
- BLOCKS students who are participating in the summer programs for special education students may keep their chromebooks. All other BLOCKS students should return their chromebooks to the school.
- Families who are leaving the Framingham Public Schools (for example, if you’re moving out of the District, or have child(ren) attending Keefe Tech or McAuliffe Charter School), must return their chromebooks to their school.
- Please return any hotspots you are no longer using to your school.
- Please return any damaged or second chromebooks you received. A number of students were given two chromebooks because of technical difficulties. You need to return one of the chromebooks even if it is not working. We will be reaching out to you over the summer if it is not returned.
- If your family leaves over the summer, please return your chromebook to Barbieri Elementary School in the back parking lot near the field (near door 18). A sign and table will be in place after June 22nd.
Thank you for doing your part to help us with technology so we can support new and existing FPS families next year!
Sincerely,
The Technology Department

DESE 2019 Dunning School & FPS District Accountability Report
"Every year, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) releases a report card for each school and district in the state. Just as a student's report card shows how they are doing in different classes, school and district report cards are designed to show parents and community members how a school or district is doing in different areas. Report cards highlight a school or district's strengths as well as any challenges that need to be addressed in order to make sure the needs of all students are being met.” DESE
To view our school’s report card overview and the complete report card, visit our school’s profile on the ESE’s School and District Profiles website at this Dunning Report Card Link.
