Robison Elementary Rocket Register

September 3, 2021

Message from Mrs. Gerletti

Happy Friday! I hope everyone enjoys this well-deserved three-day weekend. We have our curriculum nights coming up on the next three Tuesdays. The first one takes place on Tuesday, September 7. Please see the flyer below to see the dates for your child's grade level. Teachers will hold one session at 5:30 pm and then repeat the same session at 6:30 pm. All sessions will take place in your child's classroom, and we look forward to seeing you. If you are unable to attend, your child's teacher(s) will email their slides out afterward.

Crisis Drills

This morning our students practiced for a fire evacuation (fire drill) and a lockdown. Students and staff were made aware that these were only drills. All students will bring home a copy of the flyer below.

CFISD drill standards for elementary schools include:

1 Fire Drill per month (when there are 10 or more instructional days in the month)

1 Lockdown drill per semester

1 Secure the Building drill per year

1 Shelter in Place (weather) and 1 Shelter in Place (Hazmat) per year

COVID Notifications

CFISD has changed the protocol for informing parents about positive COVID cases at the campus. If you receive a letter from Robison Elementary, it is because your child is in the same class as another individual who tested positive and was on campus. We are no longer sending letters to the entire grade level. CFISD has a dashboard that is updated daily. The dashboard includes all reported positive cases, including staff who are not assigned to classrooms. If you need information about testing site locations, please see the link below.

Spirit Days and Fan Shirt Fridays at Robison

We encourage your child to join in on the fun of wearing Robison spirit wear on Mondays. We also have Fan Shirt Fridays. On Fridays, we love to see the professional and college teams that your child supports.

If you have not already ordered a spirit shirt, these are available through PTO.

You may join PTO to show your support of the many activities provided for our students. While we love volunteers, joining PTO does not require you to volunteer.

Membership information and the purchase of spirit wear is on their website, https://robisonpto.membershiptoolkit.com/

Do You Need a Spirit Shirt?

Deadline to Order is September 15!

Garden Day Volunteers

We are off to a great start with our garden lessons. Our garden instructors would love some help in the near future. Parents who would like to volunteer are needed on our garden days while the students are in art, music, and pe. This is the time when our garden teacher works in the garden. We would also love for some of our dads to come up to help rearrange some of the bricks that border the gardens. We are going to rearrange them to make them more accessible (reachable) for our students. Pictures from our first garden day of the year are below.
