Parents, learn more about the Live Different presentation that was held today during our Forum!
Hello,
We are Live Different, a trusted youth empowerment charity that had the opportunity to engage with your child and others at school today, all about the value and beauty within each of our own personal stories. Our goal is to help develop resilient, compassionate young people by having them come away from a presentation understanding the ability they have to turn experience into growth and to find meaning and purpose in helping others.
We are thrilled to have had the chance to connect with your community in this way. Relationships are important to us and, as a Canadian charity that focuses on positive youth development, we work alongside educators, students, and caregivers to inspire a lifestyle that cares about people.
As a follow-up to our in-school presentation, you will find a resource attached to help families extend the impact of this conversation at home, digging deeper into just how important it is to "Own Your Story".
Also, one of the most proven ways of positively strengthening a youth’s identity and resilience is through volunteering. It also increases positive mental health, boosts feelings of connectedness and belonging, and changes perspectives.
In addition to your local volunteer opportunities, for over a decade we have witnessed the power of volunteering first hand through our international Builds program. We’ve brought thousands of Canadian students (and many parents too) to the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Mexico to build homes, schools, and other various important projects. Every Build is fully charitable and easy to fundraise for because all donations are eligible for tax receipts.
If you would like to learn more about the many ways we help empower young people, feel free to check out our website or give us a call anytime.
Sincerely,
The team at Live Different
