Looking at the differences in the soil color, water and feel of the soil.
Pictures
Learning about all the animals that live in the soil.
Comparing text
Last week we read The Curious Garden, we continued to look at the text, asking our selves questions and studying the words and pictures. This week we read The Night Gardener. After we read, we began making connections between the two texts. We compared the stories and found many similarities and differences. We talked about the importance of the clues the author/illustrator gives us throughout the story. We dug back into both books finding more and more information each time we went back.
