Zoom and Virtual Learning Standards
Zoom is a learning tool that enables students and teachers to connect and unite in a virtual classroom environment. Therefore, all students are expected to adhere to the following standards during all virtual learning sessions:
1. Turn your camera on and have at eye level at all times. Remain seated. If you must move away from the screen at some point during the meeting, turn the video function OFF until you return.
2. In order to reduce background noise, stay muted unless your teacher has given you permission to talk.
3. Devices are to be placed on flat surfaces to ensure sound is muffled and video remains steady.
4. Make sure you sit in a well-lit and quiet place, which is free from distractions, including pets; preferably in a room with open doors.
5. Be mindful of what’s going on behind you. Think about having a solid background or turning on the virtual background. Once a background has been selected, it must remain the same throughout the lesson.
6. Inappropriate media may not be used as a background or theme.
7. To ensure that students focus on the lesson at hand, chatting among students is not permissible.
8. Chatting may only take place between the student and the instructor for asking questions or for clarification. Students must use appropriate language; Acronyms such as, LOL are not acceptable.
9. To maintain an atmosphere that is conducive to learning, we expect our students to be neat, clean, tidy and modest in appearance. Pajamas are not permissible. Shoulders, back and midriff must be covered at all times. Tops may not contain inappropriate printed words.
10. Do not eat during a meeting and be mindful of where any drink is placed near a computer.

Archdiocesan Prayer in the Time of the COVID-19
Comfort us, O Lord, for we are like your disciples on the storm tossed seas, unsettled by what lies ahead. We turn to You, our Healer and Guide, to still our hearts in our time of need and hear our prayer: Heal those who are sick with the coronavirus and protect the elderly and most vulnerable. Give strength to all who tend to our health and wisdom to researchers who work toward a cure. Open our eyes and hearts, as you did during Hurricane Harvey, that we may look beyond our immediate needs to care for others who need help. Through the Holy Spirit, guide our leaders to make wise decisions for the welfare of all the people they serve. Grant eternal rest to those who have died from the virus. May Mary, Our Mother, who has heard our pleas in the storms of our lives, intercede to her Son, that we may find healing and a prompt end to this illness. Mary, Star of the Sea, pray for us. Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior, heal us. Amen.
