Fall 2020 and Fall 2021 Classifications and Regions Announced
On December 17, the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) announced classifications and regions for the Fall 2020 and Fall 2021 seasons. Hewitt-Trussville remains in 7A and will be in the same region/area as the last two years. See the list below to see where Hewitt-Trussville will compete in Fall competition in 2020 and 2021.

Indoor Track Excels at Holiday Invitational
Hewitt-Trussville Indoor Track competed in their final event before the Christmas break Saturday as they traveled to the Birmingham Crossplex for the Holiday Invitational. The HT Boys team finished 3rd out of 25 teams and the HT Girls team finished 7th out of 30 teams.
In total, 22 personal records were set over the weekend, one school record and one meet record.
Here are some highlights from Saturday’s meet.

Bowling Closing in on Area Title
Hewitt-Trussville Bowling won again on Monday as they continue their quest for an Area title. The HT Boys are now 13-1 overall on the season and 8-0 in Area play. The HT Girls are now 8-3 overall this season and 6-0 in Area play.
On Monday, the HT Boys won 1220-977. Drew Shaw had the high game with a 179. The HT Girls won 908-685. Madeline Newman had the high game with a 139.
On Tuesday December 17, the Huskies will travel to Pinson for an Area contest.
Basketball Busy on Pre-Christmas Week
Hewitt-Trussville Basketball will be in action several times this week before taking a break for the Christmas holidays. On Tuesday, the Huskies will host Ramsay. Both JV games will begin at 4:30pm. The Varsity Girls will play at 6pm and the Varsity Boys will play at 7:30pm.
On Thursday, the HT Boys will travel to Wenonah for a contest. This weekend, the HT Girls will travel to Eufaula for the Lake City Classic. The Huskies will take on PK Yonge (FL) and Eufaula.
Four Football Players to Sign Wednesday
Four Hewitt-Trussville Football student-athletes are expected to sign on Wednesday during a ceremony at Hewitt-Trussville High School. The event will be held in the HTHS Auditorium and will begin at 12:30pm. Here are the students that are expected to participate:

Wrestling Competes in Georgia
HT Wrestling traveled across state lines Saturday to compete in the 2019 Buford Takedown Sportswear Invitational. The Huskies finished 10th as a team in the Varsity competition. The Huskies had three athletes finish within the top six in their classification.

Student Athletic Pass Pickup Information
In an effort to increase our fan base and make game attendance more affordable, Student Athletic Passes will be available for the second time ever for the 2019-2020 school year. Every student in the district (K-12) will have the opportunity to have their own personalized athletic pass card. With this pass, students will be able to enter ALL HTMS and HTHS home regular season sporting events. The pass is $20 and can be purchased during registration as an item on the activity sheet.

Q. What is the purpose of the Student Athletic Pass?
A. The Student Athletic Pass will be available to ALL students in the district (K-12). Our goal is to make it easier and more affordable for students to attend Hewitt-Trussville sporting events.
Q. What can I attend with this pass?
A. Students that have their pass can enter ALL HTMS and HTHS home regular season sporting events. Every sport! For the entire 2019-2020 school year!
Q. How much does this pass cost?
A. The Student Athletic Pass is $20

A. Passes are available at all five TCS schools and can be purchased through registration
Q. Do students with a Student Athletic Pass still need to buy a ticket?
A. No. The Student Athletic Pass is good for admission to ALL HTMS and HTHS regular season home games. Tickets will need to be purchased for playoff games only.
MS Basketball Weekly Recap
7th Grade Girls:
Coach Morgan Griffin's team defeated Oak Mountain 21-18 Thursday. Allie Claire Monski led the way for the Huskies as she scored nine points.
8th Grade Girls:
Coach Todd Carlile's team dropped a 22-19 decision to Oak Mountain Thursday.
7th Grade Boys:
Coach Josh Warren's squad beat Oak Mountain 43-26 Thursday. Grayson Pope scored 12 points and Hunter Curtis added 11 points.
8th Grade Boys:
Coach Clint Argo's team defeated Oak Mountain 54-37 last week.
All Middle School Basketball teams will return to action on January 7 as they take on Liberty Park.
MS Wrestling Collects Top Five Finish
HTMS Wrestling finished 5th out of 20 teams at the Panther Invitational over the weekend. A total of seven HT Wrestlers advanced to the finals of their weight class. Two HT Wrestlers won their weight class. Clark Box won his class without giving up a single point in two days of competition.
Highlights from Pelham:
*Clark Box 1st in his class and scored 50.5 team points
*Eric Kosmus scored 10 team points
*John Murphy Copus 2nd in his class and scored 26 team points
*Crawford Warren scored 9.5 team points
*Ethan Warren placed 10th and scored 21 team points
*JD Wine scored 11 team points

MS Indoor Track Meet #1 Recap
MS Indoor Track competed at the Birmingham Crossplex on December 12 in the first Middle School meet of the year. Many athletes qualified for the championship meet and several athletes earned their way to the podium. Here are some highlights from the meet:

MS Cheer 2nd in State
HTMS Cheer traveled to Wallace Hanceville on Saturday to compete in the State Cheer competition. The Huskies had a great performance and finished 2nd. Congratulations to all athletes and coaches.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) requires all student-athletes to complete eligibility paperwork each year. For the second year, this process will be done online rather than in paper copy. Any student, wishing to participate in athletics, that will be in grades 7-12 for the 2019-2020 school year will be required to complete this process. Please follow the instructions below to complete these forms for the 2019-2020 school year. Students’ forms for 2019-2020 need to be 100% complete as soon as possible. This is for AHSAA sanctioned sports only.
