Artful Learning Highlight- 8th Grade Intersession!
8th Grade Intersession: This week, 8th grade students participated in Intersession, which was the culminating event in our Artful Learning unit of the Concept of Patterns. During these four days, students worked with their fourth period classes to created a unique Original Creation. These Original Creations included hand-stitched quilts, origami animal creations, wooden square quilts, musical creations, and so much more! Each creation helped students answer the Significant Question for our unit, "How do patterns help us to understand the past, present, and future?" Students and teachers are so proud of what we have created together! We hope that you join us at our Winter Showcase on February 6th to see these wonderful projects and other amazing work from the 6th and 7th grade students at Roosevelt.

Attendance is key to student success! Please encourage your student to attend school everyday and arrive on time. Remember, absences must be cleared within 72 hours (3 school days) after student returns to school. We also appreciate when you schedule dental/doctor appointments outside of the school day to avoid instruction interruptions. Parents if you are planning a trip in which your student will miss 5 or more school days, please notify the attendance two weeks in advance to set up an independent study contract.
School Safety: Parents, please remind your students to use the crosswalk when arriving or leaving school. The heavy traffic makes it unsafe for students because drivers may not see them as they cross the street.
Health Office: Parents of 6th grade students: The Tdap vaccine is required to start the 7th grade. Reminders will be sent home monthly. Please turn in updated immunization records to the health Office. Please call the Health Office if you have any questions.
