SAINT'S SCOOP
St. Martin's Catholic Elementary School - September 16, 2019
Welcome to a New School Year
As a staff, we want to stress that regular attendance and punctuality are essential if a student is to achieve maximum benefit from his or her schooling. A student that is away from school for any reason-vacation, illness, excused or unexcused-has missed opportunities for learning. These missed opportunities can add up over the course of the year or the course of a students’ academic career. Research shows the point at which these absences can begin to affect academic growth is missing 10% or more of the school year. Regular attendance at school maximizes students’ opportunities to: participate more fully in learning activities, form relationships with others, increase their likelihood of school bonding and successfully complete high school. We are committed to improving school attendance and inspiring students to become the best they can be.
The Nutrition Grant has been announced by the government on September 9. We are in the planning stages of what the details are and how to roll out the program. We are hoping to roll out the program in October. Stay tuned for more details.
With a new year ahead of us, we welcome any new students and look forward to a year of learning, fun activities to support school spirit and working together with our community to make our school year the best it can be!
Sincerely
Mr. J. Kucy
