Dear GRE Families,
What an awesome Friday! We had so much fun working with different artists and celebrating Veteran's! A huge thank you to our art teacher, Christine Doran for organizing such a special experience (check out below for more details) and to the PTO for supporting this event. We also decorated our school with love and support for Veteran's before celebrating them Friday afternoon. Thank you to DeAnne Wood and her team of support for putting on such a special Veteran's Day Assembly.
Since November is in full swing, we also want to say thank you for your donations to our annual food drive. We've collected 1104 items for the food drive! Keep it up GRE!
Here's to a great week!

Specials Spotlight: STEM with Mrs. Keller
Fourth grade students are currently working on the design process and coding. Students watched a behind the scenes short video of the Macy’s Day Parade. They then had to come up with a theme for their float and are currently in the process of creating their floats. Once students are done creating their floats they will code a mini sphero to pull their float around the building. Students will be putting on a Thanksgiving parade for the students at GRE.
Third Grade is currently working on the design process. Students took an interest survey. Based on their answers, they had to select a STEM project. More information to come.
In second grade we are also working on the design process. Students watched Caine’s Arcade, which is about a boy who created his own cardboard arcade. Students are now imagining and planning what arcade game they will create.
First Grade is working on force and motion and the design process. Students are exploring how things move by creating mazes. Students will also be creating a contraption that will move a ping pong ball in a zig-zag motion.
Kindergarten is working on creating a new instrument. The instrument must make sound in 2 different ways, either by plucking it, tapping it, or blowing into it. They are currently in the planning process.
Congrats to our Golden Spatula Winners!
This week we introduced the "Golden Spatula Award" at lunch time. This prize is awarded to one class at each grade level. Throughout the week, we look for students who are following our lunch room expectations. It was awesome to see the kids get so excited-please help us congratulate our winners for the week of November 4th!
