THIS JUST IN: we are at 100% class participation!!!!!!!
Thanks to everyone for helping get this done - we will be a sea of yellow walkers.
-- and Ms. Amanda is going to have to color her hair PURPLE, like she promised :)
But Now we have to Bring It!!
The kids are going to do their part - now we parents have to do our part - by getting friends and family to help us out!
This is where it takes The Village!!

WE HAVE SECURED PRIZES FOR THE TOP 3-4 CLASSES WHO RAISE THE MOST MONEY.
>BUS TRIP trip to California Pizza Kitchen - kids get a tour of the kitchen and get to make a pizza and eat it etc.
>BUS TRIP to the LA ZOO!! With private tour of parts of the zoo.
THE CLASS THAT RUNS THE MOST LAPS - your class must get together and work as a team and run as many laps as they can.

**regarding the prizes….the forces behind this amazing event are trying very hard to make prizes equitable and competition fair….please remember that the incentives are meant to spur on the purpose of this whole thing -- we need to make big cash for our BUDGET -- this money raised is not extra, it goes to WHAT WE HAVE NOW….TAs, Music, Art, PE!!
FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS IS UP FOR GRABS (through an angel donation)
We will get this "free" money if we hit our target goal of 60G -- we must hit our goal!!
If we make 65G there could be a big ole celebration!! Let's give ALL the kids a party --
+ SLIMING OF THE PRINCIPAL AND VICE PRINCIPAL
Every child gets to do this if we're at 100% participation school-wide
we are scheduled on the walk-a-thon course from 9:45-10:15
NEEDED: Four Lucky Helpers
Two will ride the bus from Grant with the students to AL, assist in getting kids off the bus into the large gym and out onto the track. This is all SUPER easy. It's just staying with the kids the whole time which is also super fun! (the two not riding on the bus, just meet up at South Campus)
Then once the kids begin the walking, these chaperones will also be asked to be LAP COUNTERS and track approx. 6 kids in the class and count how many laps they run. Also very easy. They will co-ordinate this with Jen Bledsoe, our fabulous Stage Manager for the event.
*** PLEASE NOTE-- these parents won't be staying at AL for the entire event - at least 2 of them must ride back on the bus with the class ***

time to MOVE IT, MOVE IT…..WE GOTTA MOVE IT, MOVE IT!
Please come to the South Campus this Saturday to help prep and paint, build furniture, move furniture….. 9-3……Child Care is Available at no cost.
and….YOU CAN COME HELP AT SOUTH CAMPUS ALMOST ANY TIME!!! An hour or two here and there will go a looooooong way to making our new room...our new home!
It's on the second floor, all the way at the end - Room #6.
Next Work Party dates are Friday Nov. 22nd (no school) and the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the 30th.

*Cleaning Team - please Sign Up here so people don't just assume its the fairies doing the work….and so we all know that if we can sign up, we should. Also - the whole First Grade is norming that kids need to stay outside while the cleaning is going on…maybe park people can stick around and play if Cleaners don't want to also go to the park?
