Welcome to CIS, Mr. Dubina!
As you may have heard, Mrs. Cripe has accepted the Coloma Title 1 position where she will continue to support our Intermediate and Junior High students and staff. Title 1 teachers are the driving force for our RtI process. They use data to build our tier two and three intervention programs for our students. Her expertise and dedication to Coloma will continue to influence everyone at Coloma Community Schools. As she begins to transition into her new role, a new Highly Qualified 5th grade teacher, has been hired to fill the position vacated by Mrs. Cripe.
Mr. Dubina comes to us with five years of teaching experience. He is known for his outgoing personality, positive demeanor, and strong classroom management skills. He has a background in special education and has previously taught fourth grade. We look forward to working with him and would like to provide the families with an opportunity to meet Mr. Dubina prior to his start date on Monday, April 17th.
To make this happen, I am personally inviting you and your child to a "Meet and Greet" on Thursday, April 13th.
There will be two options:
- Virtual Meet & Greet 5-6 pm https://meet.google.com/bci-gnto-gb
- In-Person Meet & Greet 6-7pm at Coloma Intermediate
I would like to thank you for your patience with Coloma Intermediate as we make this positive transition. I feel that we have found and hired an excellent teacher and person who will be a wonderful addition to the Coloma Intermediate School staff.

COMET REWARD DAY Friday, April 21st
Comet Choir Concert May 22nd
The Comet Choir is an elementary extracurricular choir that has been around for decades. This year, the choir was open to all fourth- and fifth-grade students at the Coloma Intermediate School. Interested students signed up in the beginning of November and had the opportunity to sing alongside the Junior High and High School choirs for the annual Choral Holiday Showcase. This year we have thirty members and hope to grow even more in future years. On May 22nd, the choir will present their own concert, “One More Song.” The choir is led by Charity Kirksey, the Coloma Elementary music teacher, and the newest member of our arts team, Lane Alsup, the Coloma Director of Choirs.
