Ortega's Oration
Dear Bryan High Community,
Last month we wrapped up our first quarter of this school year and I must tell you, we have so much to be proud of and celebrate at Bryan High! Every metric we use to monitor our school improvement plan quarterly improved.
Our Bryan High School Improvement Plan for 2021-2022 once again includes Freshman On-Track, Instruction, Climate & Culture, and Attendance as our levers for improvement. As we compare this year’s first quarter to last year’s first quarter, we saw gains in every lever for improvement. The number of freshmen who are on track to graduate in four years is up, more students are utilizing learning goals and higher-level questions in the classroom, more students are earning a 3.0 GPA or higher, and lastly, more students are attending school daily.
However, there is much more work ahead of us to move from good to great. At Bryan High, we expect our students to be responsible, safe, and respectful every single day. We need all students to be responsible and strive for 95 and attend school daily. We need all students to be safe and get to class on time, every class, every day. We need all students to be respectful by being courteous to staff when directed, every class, every day.
Thank you for your continued support around our school improvement plan and ensuring your student is responsible, safe, and respectful every single day! When we work together and put our students at the center of work, remarkable things happen!
