Volunteer News
from the Bremerton School District
September 2022
The new school year is off to a great start! We are excited to welcome more volunteers into our schools as things get back to "normal."
Volunteer approval process
Volunteer approvals are valid for two years. Volunteers who completed our updated online application process last year are still approved to volunteer this school year.
Volunteers approved prior to the last school year will need to go through our new approval process before they can volunteer. Once we've identified a volunteer opportunity for an individual, we will invite you to apply and will provide step-by-step instructions for this quick and easy online process.
Not sure? You can ask your school's volunteer coordinator to check and see if you are an approved volunteer in our Raptor database (this is the same system we use for checking in visitors at our schools).
Interested in becoming a volunteer?
We invite you to learn more about the process here. Please consider completing our brief prospective volunteer survey and we'll contact you if there is a need for a volunteer with your interests, skills and availability! Thanks for your interest in supporting our students as a volunteer!
The Kindness Project - Everyone Benefits when Kindness is Shared!
More than 2,500 handwritten cards have been distributed to staff and students since the project began in the fall of 2020 when The Kindness Card was launched. Volunteers are needed to assist with The Kindness Project! Learn more here!
Bremerton Backpack Brigade
The Bremerton Backpack Brigade is in need of volunteers. This is not a District volunteering opportunity so you do not have to be approved as a District volunteer. We are so appreciative of the tremendous support the Bremerton Backpack Brigade provides to our students and families.
