Summary of book
The Perks Of Being Wallflower was written from the point of view of a high school freshman named Charlie. The novel is put together as a series of letters that Charlie writes to an unnamed friend, these chronicle letters tell Charlie's trials, tribulations, and triumphs as he goes through his first year of high school. He begins writing soon after the suicide of his friend Michael, as he comes up on his first year of high school and feels very alone. Early in the year, Charlie meets an older student named Patrick which introduces him to his step-sister, Sam. Charlie later meets the rest of Sam and Patrick's group of "misfit" friends, and the resulting sense of community enables Charlie to feel more comfortable in school. Even though charlie is somewhat introverted and anti social he tries to who watch the lives around him, Charlie tries hard to participate and to be more in control of his world.
At different points in the story, Charlie meets people who deal with difficult personal issues: cheating, abortion, and drug use. Many of these individuals have been sexually abused, but Charlie does not react well to such information. It is not until the end of the novel, when Charlie is about to have sex with Sam, that Charlie realizes that Aunt Helen had sexually abused him. He begins to have a breakdown, but his friends are there to lend assistance. When Sam leaves for college soon after this revelation, Charlie's downward spiral continues. His parents find him naked and disoriented, and he is hospitalized. After undergoing several weeks of therapy, he comes to terms with the fact that his Aunt Helen had molested him every week when he was a young boy. His immense love for her led him to suppress the memories these events.
Charlie closes the novel by announcing that he may no longer need to write his letters. He has started to believe that he has agency over his own life and that he does not need to be defined by his past. Charlie's development and growth as a character demonstrate the perks, and the drawbacks, of being a wallflower.

Summary of movie
The narrator (Edward Norton) is an automobile company employee who travels to accident sites to perform product recall cost appraisals. His doctor refuses to write a prescription for his insomnia and instead suggests that he visit a support group for testicular cancer victims in order to appreciate real suffering. By attending the group, the narrator feels distraught at the condition of these ill fated people and breaks down. He is then able to sleep soundly and subsequently fakes more illnesses so he can attend other support groups in order to get out his pent up emotions through crying. The narrator's routine is disrupted when he begins to notice another impostor, Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter), at the same meetings and his insomnia returns.
During a flight for a business trip, the narrator meets Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), who is a soap salesman. The narrator arrives home to find his apartment has been destroyed by an explosion. He calls Tyler and meets him at a bar. Tyler agrees to let the narrator stay at his home on the condition that the narrator hits him. The narrator complies and the two end up enjoying a fist fight outside the bar. The narrator moves into Tyler's dilapidated house and the two return to the bar, where they have another fight in the parking lot. After attracting a crowd, they establish a 'fight club' in the bar's basement.

Chokers
Chokers are a women’s necklace that is worn tightly or closely to a neck.
Choker-like necklaces could first be seen during the French Revolution, when women would wear red ribbons around their neck to pay tribute to those who dies at the hands of the guillotine.
The necklace really began to take shape when the royal and elite began wearing them. Alexandria, the Princess of Wales, popularized the trend by wearing one made of thick layers of pearls and velvet. From there, the necklace became a fashion accessory for the upperclass as the necklaces were made custom to fit one’s neck.
However the trend really took off in the 90’s when celebrities like Jennifer Love Hewitt and Britney Spears began to wear them. Store such Claire’s and Afterthoughts would also help push the necklace as their stores were often stocked in various styles and colors.
