Fall 2021

Big picture

Happy Fall TexQuestrians!

As the chill in the air settles over Texas and we enter a season of gratitude, the TexQuest Support Center would like to extend our thanks to every librarian and educator for all you do. Once again, we are faced with a challenging year. And once again, our librarians and educators have responded with grace and a problem-solving attitude. Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are the absolute best!

Provider Updates

A Note from TeachingBooks

On October 7, OverDrive, the digital reading platform for libraries and schools, announced the acquisition of TeachingBooks.net, a TexQuest resource. Founder and Head of TeachingBooks Nick Glass said, "I'm so honored to be moving forward with OverDrive, building upon the TeachingBooks foundation that colleagues and customers have spectacularly built. With the merging of these amazing literacy services, we will enable readers, librarians and educators to benefit from both the book and impactful enrichment materials."

This acquisition will not impact the access, setup, support, or content that TeachingBooks is providing TexQuest members. It remains a stand-alone resource, available to each student, teacher, staff, and family in all TexQuest schools.

Please reach out to TeachingBooks if you have any questions or want any support for this resource: accounts@TeachingBooks.net 800-596-0710

November is Picture Book Month

It's safe to say, no matter what the age, we never outgrow a good picture book. After all, stories unite us! They help us build empathy towards others by exposing us to a variety of settings and worldviews. What's best, they completely integrate into K-12 curriculum. TexQuest Program

TexQuest is a statewide digital resources program that provides anytime, anywhere access to high quality, authoritative digital resources to all educators, students, and students' immediate families in Texas K-12 public schools and open enrollment charter schools. Supported, in part, by appropriations from the Texas State Legislature, Texas districts pay a small per student participation fee to gain access to TexQuest resources from the providers listed on this page.

The Texas State Library and Archives Commission administers all aspects of the TexQuest program and is responsible for the selection and coordination of all TexQuest resources, as well as district invoicing.

Education Service Center, Region 20 serves as the TexQuest Support Center and is responsible for help desk, technical assistance, outreach, communication, and training to support the program.
