Updates from the Principal

Greetings Firebird Nation Families -

We wanted to provide some calendar updates for you as we get ready to Return to Learn:

August 5th - E-Learning enrollment submissions are due. If you are planning to have your student participate in our E-Learning option as we return to learn, please make sure to complete the enrollment survey if you have not already done so. This is located here: https://forms.gle/Zzcgk8BeBUcKVYe88

Week of August 10th - We will be sending out an email for families to check their schedules through the Parent portal. We will include instructions on how to sign up if you do not yet have an account. Schedules are being created for students attending in-person as well as students attending through E-Learning since we have different class periods designated to accommodate both options.

August 14th - 6th Grade WEB Orientation Day. 6th Grade students will be able to come to Falcon Middle School from 8am - 12pm. Our 8th grade WEB Leaders will be conducting their annual welcome activities and team builders to help welcome our 6th graders and show them around the school. We will have protocols in place for physical distancing and all of our groups have 20 students or fewer within the classroom on this day. We will also be providing a Zoom link for 6th grade students participating in E-Learning to be able to attend as well. More details on this will be coming soon. Please note: There will not be any district transportation running on August 14th, so parents would need to drop off their students around 7:45am and pick up their students at 12:00pm.

August 14th - New 7th and 8th Grade Students to FMS Orientation - Our Junior Student to Student program and counselors will be conducting a new student orientation from 8am - 10am on this day for any new 7th and 8th grade student to Falcon Middle School. Activities focused on building new friendships and showing students around the school will be conducted by our trained JS2S members. We will also have small groups and protocols of physical distancing in place for this orientation as well. Parents should drop students off at 7:45am and plan to pick them back up at 10:00am.

August 17th - School starts for all Students! This will be our first official day for In-Person and E-Learning. We are working to revamp our website to create team and teacher Landing pages to make easy access for parents and students. All of the teacher’s information, daily assignments, and virtual classroom pieces will be updated on these pages daily. This will ensure easy instant access for all students and parents to know what is happening in the students’ classes.

Thank you for your continued support of Falcon Middle School. We will communicate more as we get closer to our official start date!

Sincerely,

Brian Smith

Executive Principal
