March Teachers of the Month

Ms. Hermanson

Ms. Hermanson aka "Ms. Herm" as her students call her. Ms. Herm has excellent rapport with her students past and present! Just being friends with Ms. Herm automatically gives you "cool" points in the students’ books. Her ability to make math fun and engaging is a huge reason her students adore her as much as they do. She goes above and beyond with morning and lunch tutoring, there is always at least 20 kids in her room working diligently as she is running from student to student to give them one on one guidance! She has high expectations for all her students and these expectations are what drives them. Ms. Herm is a huge asset to BTMS, we are lucky to have her!

Mrs. Merriman

Mrs. Merriman is an amazing teacher, math teammate and friend. She is always going the extra mile for her students and co-workers! She is a “secret servant” as she quietly gives of her time, energy and resources. The little things are what make her special, like when teachers receive their favorite treat on their birthday. Ms. Merriman stays up into the late hours of the night making sure the 7th grade math department has great lessons or interactive activities for our students. If you can't find Ms. Merriman, she is probably in her room tutoring students: morning, lunch and even in the afternoons. She is willing to stay late to tutor students. We are blessed to have Ms. Merriman as a math teammate - she is truly a one of a kind teacher and BTMS is lucky to have her!

PTO NEWS

The PTO has been busy the past couple of weeks! We had the pleasure of serving lunch to our guest speaker for the Black History Presentation, Brenda Robinson, as well as many honored guests on February 19th. Darby Copeland, Shelly David, and their crew did an amazing job with the décor and food, and our student servers made the luncheon such a special occasion for our guests! We also hosted the 8th-grade Great Gatsby Gala last Friday, 2/26. It was fantastic! The decorations, the food, the music, the FUN! The PTO Dance Committee (Darby Copeland, Shelly David, Mary Hennessy, Jen Kiser, Kim Biehl, Kristi Whitaker) and all the volunteers worked hard to make it a night our 8th graders will never forget. THANK YOU to all who sent in food and other items for both of these events!
