Middle School Expansion Update 1/14

Construction started and positions posted

January 2014 Update

Construction Has Begun!

You may have noticed construction worker vehicles parked in the lower lot and that means Penn Construction has begun the middle school expansion project. We expect that classrooms and office space will be ready for the start of school in September 2014. Dr. Beitzel is coordinating the expansion project along with Alicia Mojica, and an expansion team is in place to meet regularly to keep the project moving. Any questions, feel free to come and visit in room 1F.

Middle school positions are posted for 2014-2015 school year

Visit PAReap.net to view the teaching positions posted for the upcoming school year in the new expanded middle grades. Starting the end of January, Esperanza Academy will have a new streamlined hiring website, powered by Talent Ed. The website will allow candidates to apply for positions, upload documents, and keep track of the process from interview to potential job offer. Positions posted on PAReap and other third-party sites will easily link to the new site. The direct link for Talent Ed is https://neacademy.cloud.talentedk12.com/hire/index.aspx

If you know someone who is highly qualified and would like to work here, please ask them to apply. You can then notify Ms. Chelsea Foster, Hiring Coordinator at cfoster@neacademy.net that you are referring a candidate and cc Dr. Beitzel at cbeitzel@neacademy.net.

Coming soon, look for the 2014 Intention Forms via email from Mr. Rossi. If you are interested in applying for a middle school position (or any open position for that matter), make sure you indicate your interest on the form. Internal candidate interviews will occur starting in February.

Esperanza Academy Charter School

September 2000 welcomed 200 ninth grade students. Currently, EACS enrolls 950+ students in grades 6-12. With 2013 graduation (94%) and college acceptance (98%) rates, and consistently scoring above the PA state average in reading and math for Latino students, it is no wonder EACS was awarded a silver medal rating by US News as one of the best high schools in the nation.

What makes EACS unique is students declare a major of study by 9th grade and concentrate electives in real-world professions, students in grades 6-11 attend seminar where math, reading, and science are explored in more depth, high school students can enroll in nine AP courses, and blended learning allows for highly interactive classrooms.
