Canvas Observer Account: Canvas is our learning management system. Each class that your child is enrolled in has a Canvas course. In each course, you'll be able to view the syllabus, assignments, due dates, and more. Click here to learn how to create a Canvas observer account.
Both Parent Portal and Canvas can be accessed through a browser or through their apps that can be downloaded to your mobile device.
Intervention & Enrichment
What does intervention look like? Extra practice or reteaching of a certain topic or skill, assessment review session, student-driven Q&A sessions, time for second-chance learning, getting assistance from a specials teacher, and more.
What does enrichment look like? Time to explore a new topic not covered in the regular curriculum, social/emotional wellness activities, time for independent reading, opportunity to provide peer tutoring, and more.
We are excited to offer this opportunity to our students and look forward to refining it as the weeks progress.
Fundraising Update
This is the only fundraiser of the year that Lenape does, and it directly benefits Lenape students. Please consider participating as it helps us to fund some of the "extras" for our students. The fundraiser ends next week on October 5th.

Updated Attendance Procedures
The Central Bucks School District will be changing the way in which absences are reported, beginning with the start of this upcoming school year on August 30, 2021. The following items are some key points to be aware of:
- Parents and guardians will be able to submit absence requests via the Parent Portal. Parents can request a full day absence, early dismissal, or late arrival.
- Absence requests will be reviewed by School Attendance Staff and approved or denied.
- Requests made using the Parent Portal will also serve as the excuse for the absence. Parents will not be required to submit an excuse either electronic or written.
- Parents and guardians can also still call the school to report an absence, but emails will no longer be accepted. The lenapeattendance@cbsd.org email address will be discontinued.
In addition, when a student is absent from school, but the school did not receive communication from the parent or guardian, the following communication will be sent:
- A text message will be sent midmorning notifying the parent or guardian of the absence
- An email will also be sent at the end of the school day reminding the parent or guardian that the student was marked absent.
Information regarding how to use the Parent Portal to report an absence can be found here.
CHIP and Free & Reduced Lunch Applications
CHIP provides free or low-cost insurance to uninsured children and teens up to age 19 who qualify. Find more information and an application here: https://www.chipcoverspakids.com/Pages/default.aspx.
Although school meals will continue to be free for the 21-22 school year, we encourage eligible families to fill out the Free and Reduced Lunch application. This will allow us to identify and assist those families in need with additional resources for school-based items. Apply here: https://www.cbsd.org/Page/342

Safe2Say
Safe2Say is a valuable resource that has been set up by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to provide a method for anyone to report a concern about a student or group of students 24/7. Please note some important reminders about the use of Safe2Say:
- If you put in a tip, please check back often for communications. The tip line is monitored 24/7 at the state level. The tip is sent to the school and/or police if it is deemed "Life Safety" immediately. It is sent in the morning if it is determined to be "Non-Life Safety."
- It is important to include as much information as possible. If you have evidence of your concerns, please share that evidence via the tip or with us. You can attach pictures and videos in the Safe2Say system.
Please remember that Safe2Say is statewide system that is used in collaboration with the State Attorney's Office, emergency responders, and school officials. It is important to know that tips are reviewed on the state level before being passed to the local police and/or school authorities. Please consider the purpose of your tip - Is it to provide another person with a way to receive help? Is it preventing an act of violence? Is it something that needs to involve local and state authorities? While the system is anonymous, abuse of the system will not be tolerated and actions will be taken if it is determined that the system is being used inappropriately.
