On the Road
As summer time approaches, we travel more with our children. Whether it is just a day trip to the beach or a longer vacation, fighting can erupt among siblings. Sometimes this happens because kids don’t have much to keep them busy in the car. Make sure that the kids have plenty of activities to do such as books to read, notepads on which to draw, activity books, etc. This is also a great opportunity to practice some academics ~ quiz them on their math facts, give them words to spell, practice or learn states and capitals. Chances are if we keep their minds busy, they will be less likely to squabble with siblings. However, if fighting still erupts, here are some possible consequences: loss of “kid” music, cleaning the car upon arrival at home, pulling over at a safe spot and refusing to continue until the problem is solved, loss of the next privilege the child expects when you get home. Children should also be praised and sometimes even rewarded with a special treat for good behavior in the car.

Field Trip & School Event Parking
PLEASE park at the Middle School if you are attending a field trip or an event at WSE. This will ensure that we can have a normal dismissal. We have many upcoming events and we would like to avoid any added craziness at the end of each day.
