Derby Weekend in the Bluegrass
Secretariat's average speed in the Triple Crown races (The Preakness, The Belmont and The Kentucky Derby) was 37.7 mph, fast enough to set a new record in each race. His accomplishments in these prestigious races still have not been matched.
From your Principal, Mrs. Pass
First, we are going to have a virtual graduation ceremony for the fifth graders. It will not be live. It will be a link we send you that can be watched when is best for you. I am working on the video now.
Second, we will be having a pick-up and drop-off time for your class. The dates and times will be published early this week. Your teacher will be there during your pick-up and drop-off time! If you can't make those, we will have another time to do this, but your teacher will not be at the make-up one. The heath department has given us guidelines we must follow when undertaking something like this in the current environment. They ask that people stay in their cars as much as possible. Your teacher will be sending something more specific to your grade level this week, but here are the overall details.
- In the span of a few days, there will be an hour time slot for each class
- You will sign up for an arrival time, which will help us organize our materials for each child to help the line go as quickly as possible.
- One grade level will be using the bus loop, while the other grade level will be using the parking lot/parent pick-up lane
- You will pull into the bus loop or parent pick-up lane and up to the three tables set up in front of school or on the side of school, depending on your grade level
- You will stay in your car and open your window
- At Table 1, you will hand the staff member your Chromebook
- At Table 2, you will hand the staff member any materials you would like to return like library books or classroom materials
- At Table 3, the teacher will hand you any thing he/she has for you.
- You will then exit
Notes:
- Medication and items held in the First AId Room will be ready for pick-up at the third table.
- Families with multiple children at EES will need to come during each homeroom's scheduled time, as we will only have items ready for the class scheduled that day and time.
- All staff working pick-up and drop-off will be wearing gloves and masks and practicing social distancing.

SPRING PICTURES AND CLASS COMPOSITES HAVE ARRIVED!!!
They are available for pickup beginning today, Friday April 24- Wednesday May 13, Monday-Friday (8am-4pm) If you do not come to get your pictures during this pickup window, then we will hold them for you till the start of next school year.
The pictures are in a labeled box in the vestibule. You will need to buzz in at the main office door and we will let you in. The pictures are in alphabetical order by FIRST NAME. If you have more than one child, Schoolhouse Photos has put them all in one envelope. You will look under your child’s name that comes first in the alphabet. (Example: if your children’s names are John, Abby and Kate. You would look under the A’s as in Abby, for your entire families photos.) If you ordered Spring photos and a Class Composite photo, these are paper clipped together.
If you have an issue with your photos, Please email brad@schoolhousephotos.com.
