Welcome to the 2020-21 School Year!
The first day of school is quickly approaching and we are very excited to welcome you back. A special welcome to families new to Oak Grove! We are glad that you have joined the OG family. As principal, I am looking forward to getting to know and work with your child.
We want to assure you that no matter what learning environment you have chosen, we have been working extremely hard to ensure a safe learning environment with robust instruction for that setting. The staff at Oak Grove is amazing and going above and beyond to meet the needs of each student.
Our district theme for this year is "Stronger Together!" Working together as partners in your child's education, we will make this a great school year!
OG Bell Schedule
Ten minutes have been added to each school day; five minutes at the beginning and five minutes at the end.
Monday/Wednesday students will be referred to as Green Day students.
Tuesday/Thursday students will be referred to as Gold Day students.
A building calendar will be provided for alternating Fridays.
Friday, 9/11 is a Green Day.
8:20 am - The first bell rings. Students can enter the building and will head straight to class.
8:45 am - The tardy/late bell rings. All students should be in class ready to start their day.
3:55 pm - Students will be dismissed by bus, car or walker.
Important Changes for Families
To ensure a safe learning environment for all, new protocols and procedures have been implemented for this school year.
Masks will be required for all students and adults while in the building.
Students who are tardy, will stay outside in the car until a staff member is able to come outside and conduct a temperature check. Students will then enter the building and go straight to class. If your student is tardy, please call the front office and a staff member will come out to screen your child.
If a parent needs to pick up their child early for any reason (illness or appointment) they will call the office and a staff member will walk the student out to the car.
If a parent needs to turn in medication to the nurse, the parent will remain in the car and call the office, upon which the nurse will come out to the car.
Car rider students will receive a temperature check outside of their vehicle before entering the school. Parents should remain parked until they receive approval from the staff member that their child may enter.
All students will need a reusable water bottle. Drinking fountains will only be available to refill water bottles.
iPads will go home with students each day for blended learners and need to come to school each day, fully charged.
Parents will not be permitted to walk students to class. Car riders should always remain in cars and not be walked to the building for any reason.

PTA
As we near the start of a school year that we know will look very different, we still want to be able to help the students and teachers as much as possible and have funds available for all those extra things that will be needed. PTA loves being able to help Oak Grove each year with classroom grants, school equipment, special learning supplies, carnivals and events, etc. This year will be no different! To accomplish this, we need the help of the parents, grandparents, staff and community to please join PTA so we are able to help our students and teachers and try to make this year feel as normal as possible! This year, you are able to join and pay online through our MemberHub website below. Thank you in advance for supporting Oak Grove PTA! 💚
