The North News
Monthly Parent/Student Newsletter - September 2022
Hello North Families!
Our goals this year are for students to be successful academically as well as continue growing and developing into the best version of themselves. As partners with you, we want to work together to see that this happens for each of our students. Please don't hesitate to contact your student's teacher(s), counselor, or the administrative staff if there is ever a need or a concern.
We want each and every student to feel safe at school. We encourage students to utilize one of the many options we have available to report bullying or safety concerns. While we always encourage students to verbally notify an adult first, we do have other options available. We have paper forms in the front office and outside of the counseling office and online forms available on QR codes around the building as well as on the MNMS webpage.
Please know that we want to be of help any way we can. Thank you for the support you continually give to our school and to your students.

8th Grade Information!
On Wednesday, Sept 28, all 8th grade students will be taking a trip to the Canadian Valley Technological Center's El Reno campus to tour the facility, learn about programs offered, and participate in an interactive budgeting activity called "Reality Check." The Reality Check is an activity that provides experiences in line with the state mandated ICAP (Individual Career Academic Plan) program. Reality Check will give students the chance to work through a month's worth of expenses based on a random career path that they will be provided upon arrival.
Students will leave by bus at the beginning of the school day and return for lunch at MNMS. Permission slips will be sent home with students the week of Sept 12 through their 4th hour classes, and are also linked HERE. Students will ONLY need to return the permission slip if you DO NOT wish for them to attend the event. Opt-out permission forms will be due to the counseling office by Friday, Sept 23. We look forward to being able to offer this fantastic opportunity for our students!
