Pathways to Reading Training
Last Summer, I attended Pathways to Reading Training presented by Terri Clinefelter. During this training I learned how to implement small group Pathways instruction into my small groups that I teach in Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. I have used Segment and Write to make sure students are hearing all the sounds in words and are able to write those sounds down. I have used Old Word, New Word to work on sound/letter association. Having this training gave me more confidence to use part of my small group time for direct instruction in phonemic awareness and phonics skills.
