Defense of Learning - DOL WEEK! April 17th - April 21st

Get your slides ready and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE

During DOL Week all 10th and 12th grade students will Present their Defense of Learning to a panel of Teachers, Peers, and Professionals. These are formal presentations and all presenters are required to dress professionally. All of our students have been working on their DOL Slides for about a month now with the support of all of their teachers.

Over Spring Break, we are asking our families to step in and help out also. If you have a 10th or 12th grade student, please talk to them about their DOL Slides and Presentation. Here are some key things you can do to help:

  • Ask them to show you their DOL Pacing Calendar
  • Ask them to share their slides with you and show you that they are on track
  • Ask them to practice what they have so far for you, and give them honest feedback

DOL at New Tech is a BIG DEAL! All of our students MUST pass both the 10th and 12th grade DOL in order to graduate from New Tech. Students who do not pass the first time they present, will get feedback and support and one more opportunity to make the adjustments and do a make-up presentation. All make-up presentations will happen on Friday the 21st.

Last note: During DOL Week, we will be on a minimum day schedule. Student who are presenting or who are assigned to be on a panel MUST remain on campus until 4pm. All other students should be picked up by 12:39pm.

We will share a schedule when we return from Spring Break so everyone knows which days then need to stay on campus for DOL.

Enrolling for the 2023-24 School Year NOW!

Parents! Please spread the word that New Tech is accepting students for the 2023-24 School Year. Families that are interested in enrolling should come straight to the school to enroll. They do not need to enroll through the district.

Sacramento New Technology is a dependent charter school in the Sac City Unified School District. We are an open enrollment school and we do not have attendance boundaries. Anyone from anywhere can attend New Tech as long as they are committed to attending school in person.

We teach student the post graduate skills they need to be successful after high school, and we do this through Project Based instruction.

We have school tours every Tuesday from 9-10am and if your student is interested in shadowing for a day, please give us a call and we will set that up!

Come and be a Timberwolf!
