Hello Westside Families!! Our Explorers are doing a phenomenal job with their expectations and learning thus far this semester, and we couldn't do it without our dedicated staff! Please take time to say THANK YOU to your child's teacher or any staff member for helping maintain a strong and safe educational environment during this recent outbreak. Many are covering extra classes or other duties on top of their own to ensure your children receive the same high-quality education day after day. As principal, I am in awe over their dedication and perseverance!
Reminder that Monday, January 17th, BPS schools will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, 1/18.
If you did not return your child's report card envelope and any paperwork, please do so on Tuesday when they return.
Again, here are a few reminders of our current COVID protocols:
- If your child tests positive, please call the school. With valid results, we can excuse their absences.
- If your child has symptoms or is feeling sick, please keep them home if possible. Any student who exhibits symptoms at school will have to be picked up.
- If a household member tests positive, students who are ASYMPTOMATIC may attend school per parent discretion. If you choose to quarantine them, they can stay home up to 7 days from date of exposure.
- However, if they develop symptoms, please keep them home and follow the flowchart presented by BPS here at this link.
We appreciate your support with the health and safety of all here at Westside. We are still utilizing all our protocols at school including deep cleanings and sanitizing, hand sanitizer stations, social distancing and optional masks.
As always, feel free to reach out to us with any positive feedback or concerns. We look forward to another amazing semester together!

The court shall dismiss the charge against a bicycle rider or passenger for a first violation of paragraph (d) upon proof of purchase of a bicycle helmet that complies with this subsection.

Always wear a properly fitted bike helmet when riding a bike.
Observe safe bicycle rules while traveling to and from school.
Respect the rights of walkers, vehicles, and the property of others.
