A Message from the Principal
Dear Holy Family Catholic School Community,
I hope that you all enjoyed our long weekend, especially Monday, our national holiday, Martin Luther King Day. This morning during all-school morning prayer we remembered Dr. Martin Luther King through the reading of the award-winning children’s book, Martin’s Big Words written by Doreen Rappaport. The teachers will be offering some additional classroom activities this week around the quotes presented in this book. Two of my favorite quotes from the book are, “Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that,” and, “Love is the key to the problems of the world.”
I have my eye on some of the items being auctioned at our livestream Pot O’ Gold 75th Birthday Bash and can’t wait to start bidding on February 1st! Don’t forget to register for the POG at http://PotOGold2021.ggo.bid
Our Zoom Coffee and Conversation with the Principal has been rescheduled to February 24, 2021, at 9:00am.
It was great to see the joy infused Muffins with Moms turnout last Friday! The Pot O’ Gold pep rally added another layer of energy and excitement to the morning.
Last Friday the 3 – 8th grade teachers and I continued to review the data we have collected from our first ACT Aspire benchmark test. The teachers will be meeting with each of their students individually to help them set learning goals for the semester. The students will share their goals with you during the Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences on February 19; it is important that your child attends this Zoom meeting with you.
I spoke with the children today about the lockdown drill that we are planning for this Friday. The teachers will be reviewing our lockdown safety procedures with their students this week in preparation for the drill. HFCS is required to have a lockdown drill once a year, tornado drills twice and year, and fire drills once a month. We utilize Standard Response Protocol for our drills.
Please keep Father Hoa in your prayers, he is in good spirits and in on the mend.
Thank you, and God bless,
Ann Walters
Principal

Donation Items for Silent/Live Auction
The POG Committee is looking for Silent and Live Auction items! In order for Pot O' Gold to have a successful auction, we need help from our families. Each family is asked to donate two items, each with a $25 value, ASAP. Donations do not necessarily need to be purchased. Ask your favorite stores, salons or vendors for a donation. You may leave your donations at the front office, dropped off through the carline or Lisa Griffith will come to you for pick up. Please include a completed donation form with you items. If you have any ideas or items for our Live Auction, please contact Lisa Griffith at lgriffith@hfcsfw.org.
Event Sponsorship
It is not too late to be a sponsor at Pot O' Gold! Event sponsorship is offered at many levels. The levels provide showcasing your family name or business through various advertising mediums at Pot O' Gold. Deadline is NOW. For more information, please contact Lisa Griffith at lgrffith@hfcsfw.org.
