Pickup and Drop Off
Families are welcome to meet children on the playground. Walking, biking or rolling to school is strongly encouraged. Limited parking is available on 105th St, South of the lower playfield. There is also parking available North of the school. Please do not park on 109th St if you plan to meet your child on the playground. If you pick up your child via car, please review the maps below. Further details can be found here; John Rogers Traffic Map/Bell Times – John Rogers PTA
Morning Waiting Area Map
Before school in the morning, we ask that students either eat breakfast in the cafeteria, or wait near their classmates. Each activity will help prepare for the day. Students waiting with classmates should consider calm activities such as rubics cube, reading or chatting with friends. For the first week of school, JRE will have many staff members on the playground helping students get to their assigned areas.
Let’s Get Active!
Mrs. Blumhagen is creating a new bulletin board outside the gym doors! Please send in a photo of your student and/or your family getting active out in the world! If you do not have printing options, email the picture to Mrs. Blumhagen and she will print them and put them on the bulletin board. firstname.lastname@example.org
Hiking, biking, sports, walking the dog, playing at the park are just a few ideas of what you can think of as being active! Thank you! Melissa Blumhagen, Physical Education Specialist

Walk Bike and Roll To School
“Walking, biking, and rolling (i.e., wheelchair, scooting, and skating) to school is not only fun, but it also improves air quality around schools, reduces traffic congestion, creates community, and students start the day more alert and ready to learn.
About a 1/3 of students across the district walk or bike to school. If you haven’t done it before, we encourage you to try it out! Look up a route using these maps and test it out ahead of time.
Feel free to contact the district’s new Safe Routes to School Program Coordinator, Sara Colling, to customize for your individual school with photos, recent counts of students walking and biking to your school, or spotlights of certain routes or resources specific to your school.
