They can start 2-3 years behind. Good teachers should be able to close 2-3 year gaps!!

Only 5 years of strong teaching completely erase the academic effects of poverty.

How Much Do Teachers Matter?

Good relationships diffuse stress and make your life easier. Successful teachers give students the perception of control.


Give students hope. Think about what they can do in a positive way.


If you're having trouble with a student, know that someone out there has "gotten to a student." You can be that person too!!
