XC ends with GREAT SUCCESS at Carroll, Basketball Flourishes!

Last Saturday the XC teams went to Bob Jones park and put together an awesome performance. The 8th grade A team took home 5th place out of 9 teams. We had an injury at the start, otherwise we probably would have taken 4th. They fought hard. The 7th grade A team took 2nd(3 points behind Carroll). The B team won the zone title! We had some boys that finished ahead of many A team kids from other schools as well! I am extremely proud of the way they trained this short season and the effort they gave to peak at the right time! Great job!

On Tuesday XC traveled to CHHS to compete against all of the other GCISD schools. 7th grade A & B teams dominated the course and won district. When comparing our top 10 or so B team times, to the field of A team runners, many of our boys would be A team runners for ALL of the other schools. Of our approximately 60 runners in 7th grade, half had PRs(Personal Record). The 8th grade boys also had a great showing and took second on A & B. Many of those boys also had PRs. We have one more meet to go to showcase our hard work and efforts, but this time the field is bigger, with all 9 zone teams at Bob Jones Park.
