Robert's Life
Robert was the youngest out of four children. For a large part of his childhood, and whole life, Robert's health was delicate. He spent much of his school time at home. Robert's dad died when Robert was 14. When Robert was 13 he traveled to London to be educated at Westminster school. He learned Greek and Latin languages.

Robert is known for inventing the balance spring for pocket watches.
