Character Strong - Family Dares

I hope you all had a chance to participate in last week's family dare: Walking Trash Pick Up.

Please consider joining us in this week's family dare: Family Walk. We asked our Principal's Advisory Team to help create family dares that they would like to participate in with their families. With the upcoming great weather this week, they indicated they would love to go on a walk with their family. Leave your technology behind and enjoy some time on a family stroll in your neighborhood or at a nearby park!

Character Strong Student Recognition

Each week, our building will focus on a different trait of the Eight Essentials. 10 students will be recognized for modeling this trait throughout the week. This week's focus was Kindness.

The following students selected were:

Archery State Competition

Pathfinder’s First Archery team, composed of 6 4th graders and 17 5th graders, takes on State like they are pros! Despite the nerves, this team walked out and held their heads high no matter what their personal outcome. They showed great sportsmanship, confidence, and politeness throughout the whole tournament. They were complimented on several occasions by the line judges. This weekend was nothing less than extraordinary for this amazing group of kids. They competed in their biggest tournament with 3000 other kids and received 7th in 3d and 11th in bullseye. There were so many personal best records broke this weekend and a lot of excitement.

7th Grade and 8th Grade Chromebooks

We collected 8th grade Chromebooks, chargers, and bags today. If students successfully did this, they were issued their new Chromebook and charger. If needing to replace a charger, the current price online is $10.88. Cash or check can be brought to the Barry office for this amount.

7th Graders will participate in this on Monday, March 29th.

Archery State Competition

The Barry School Archery Team had the opportunity to compete at the state level over spring break in Branson, Mo. Barry was one of 170 schools who participated in this much anticipated event after being cancelled just days before the competition last year. We are now looking forward to competing at the national level in hopes of making it to the Open Championship which will be held in Myrtle Beach, SC. in June. Shout-outs go to Brody Hawk (6th grade) who ranked 22nd and Charlie Forrester (8th grade) who ranked 78th out of 568 archers. Our entire team of 24 kids did great and we look forward to continuing the journey.
