SCHOOL NEWS
May the new year be filled with happiness, good health, and prosperity for all of our Monte Vista families.
This year only, Monte Vista is offering free after school enrichment classes which will be funded by a grant that Monte Vista has received. ONE FREE class session will be available for each of our students in either the winter or the spring session. Each student may only participate in one class so that every student at Monte Vista has the opportunity to participate in a class during this school year. The winter session sign-ups are open now and the classes begin the week of January 15, 2022. Please remember to only sign your child up for ONE class. If classes become full and your child is not able to sign up for this session, they will be guaranteed a spot during the spring session. Here is more information on the classes along with the sign-up information.
PARENT FEEDBACK NEEDED
GUSD hosted the first LCAP Town Hall Webinar on 12/6/2022. The topic was Student Achievement and data was shared by Dr. Stepan Mekhitarian. We ask you to watch at home and provide us information and feedback that will help our school and the Glendale Unified School District shape and formulate our 2022 - 2023 LCAP.The hope is that we share information and solicit feedback to help us formulate our 2022 - 2023 LCAP.
What is the LCAP? Every year, school districts in California are required to prepare a three-year public plan known as an LCAP (pronounced EL-cap). The LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan) officially defines the district's goals and priorities.
The webinar was recorded and here is the link:
