Everyone Contributes Around Here. . .
A creative and hardworking team of 5th and 6th grade volunteers gave up recess and home time to create the fabulous Book Fair decorations seen in the Book Fair Hallway and lunchroom doorway. Each team came up with a “wild” idea and worked diligently to hang up their work to create excitement for the upcoming Wild West sale next week. We hope all enjoy their work. Our student body thanks them for all their time and effort.
We Need Your Feedback
This year parents of students in grades 1 - 5 experienced a different format of our Back-to-School Night presentations. Not only did parents get a chance to meet their child's teacher, but they learned important information in parent professional development breakout sessions about math, homework, reading, the "411 on 1st grade," as well as others.
In an effort to continue to meet the needs of our families and ensure the most success for our students, we are seeking your feedback on the various presentations and the new format. Please take a few minutes to let us know what you thoughts. Click here to take our short survey
All Parent PD Sessions Now Posted Online
Missed any of the Parent Professional Develoment Sessions from Back-to-School Night? Curious as to what was shared in the other grades? No worries . . . All of the presentations
have been posted on our web site.
Feel free to take a look, and reach out with any questions. Thanks for trying something new with us, and for three great nights! It is going to be a GREAT year on the Southside!
Titus' Wall of Honor. . .
In November, the windows of the rotunda will be filled with pictures of United States military personnel. If you have a family member who served or is currently serving in any branch of the United States military, please send in a picture of them (picture size 4x6 or smaller) along with the form that was sent home in the Wednesday envelope on 9/27.
Please know that only adults will handle the pictures. We will scan them and return them to you. Pictures need to be sent to the office marked Wall of Honor by Friday, October 20th. Please note that if you sent in a picture in a previous year, you do not need to resend it. We keep them from year to year; however, if the child who initially brought in the photo has moved on to middle school, we may not have a copy of the picture.
If you need to update any information, such as additional children now attending Titus, or to check if we have the picture, please email Mrs. Schorpp
Southside Hurricane Relief. . .
Titus Elementary has teamed up with the rest of the Southside - Barclay Elementary, Jamison Elementary, Butler Elementary, Mill Creek Elementary, Unami Middle School, Tamanend Middle School, and CB South - to provide support for our heroes in the American Red Cross as they continue to provide support for all those families in need due to recent hurricanes.
We will be donating the funds raised through Staff's Casual for Cause, as well as our school's annual Walk for a Cause (to be held later in the spring). As additional efforts come across my desk, I will be certain to share them with the community.
We are excited about our partnership, and with your help the Southside is going to make a big difference for many of those impacted by the hurricanes.
Home & School Association:
Fall Book Fair. . .
Saddle Up for the Scholastic Wild West Book Fair! The fair kicks off on Monday, October 9th and runs through Friday, October 13th. Thanks to the Home and School Association, each student will be given a six-dollar voucher to be used towards the purchase of a book. If you are interested in volunteering at the fair please click here.
Shopping schedules and book fair information were sent home in the Wednesday folder this past week.
