Ms. Venturino's Science - Week 7

August 31 - September 4, 2015

What we did this week

This week, students learned about built atom models before and after they learned about atoms. Ask your student to see their document on Notability with their before and after pictures. There is quite a big difference!

On Wednesday, students learned about molecules & compounds, and we did a lab with our special molecular model kits. These were donated to my class last year, and are high school and college level science tools. I'm proud of my students for stepping up to a challenge! They have the lab completed on Notability, so ask them to share what they learned this weekend!

What's coming up next week

Next week, students will be learning about the bonds between molecules, and will be doing skits to act out the types of bonds. On Thursday, students will create a concept map that ties together everything we have learned so far in Unit 2. Friday, students will finish and turn in this concept map.

Progress Report Grades

Progress reports went home with students today.

If students are not satisfied with their grade, here's what they can do to improve their grade:

Paper Airplane Lab: Students need to finish their Paper Airplane Lab Explain Everything video.

Unit 1 Notebook: Please view the video I sent out a few weeks ago to make any necessary edits and fixes to the notebook. All pages must be glued in and completed based on the instructions in the video.

All other assignments: All other assignments may be turned in at any time for up to full credit, but the sooner the better.

Assignments with a 1, 2, or 3 score: All assignments that have been scored as a 1, 2, or 3 may be fixed and resubmitted at any time.

If students need help, I am available most mornings before school. My door is usually open by 7:30-7:45

Important Upcoming Dates
