Shout out to our wonderful counselors! Thank you Brent and April for all you do for students and staff. FMS is lucky to have two amazing counselors that care so much for all!

Legislative Tidbits
A bill of interest: SF: 629 (Rosen) requiring that schools allow students to apply sunscreen during the school day. (This time of year Vitamin D might be more useful!)
Also, it did not go unnoticed that the marijuana legalization bill was introduced as HF 420. April 20th is commonly referred to as “weed day” and it seems more than just a coincidence that the bill was assigned 420 as a bill number.
Key topics this week include mandatory screening for dyslexia before second grade and the screening of any student reading below grade level. This will be heard Wednesday.
