Type 2 Diabetes is a serious condition that is caused when your body cannot process glucose because of the lack of insulin. In result, the glucose will build up in the blood vessels. Obesity, and lack of physical activity is the most common reasons for someone to get this disease. An interesting fact is that it is more common for African-Americans, Latinos, Native-Americans, and Asian-Americans to get Type 2 Diabetes. This type of diabetes is a global health crisis. Hopefully someday, doctors will be able to find a cure for this.

1. Large amounts of glucose can lead to weakening of the walls of the blood vessels.

2. Scar tissue created by the bursting of the weak walls can lead to damage of the organ that the vessel is attached to.

To maintain a healthy lifestyle, it is significantly important to get at least __60 minutes of physical activity each day. This would keep a person from becoming obese and obesity will most likely lead to Type 2 Diabetes. Another important way to keep your lifestyle healthy is to have a healthy diet that you stick to because the diet will not help you unless you are consistent with it. You should try to avoid high-sugar foods. Bad diets can also lead to obesity. In addition, water always helps people stay healthy so try to drink around 8 glasses of water each day. Hydration is key because without water, the human body just can’t function correctly. Furthermore, to prevent Type 2 Diabetes, it is essential to choose the right fats because certain fats like promote inflammation, indirectly cause insulin resistance. Lastly, always take the medication that your doctor gives you. All of the medications that you are given will help so that is a rule that everyone should follow.

Is there a cure to Type 2 Diabetes?

Fortunately, there is a cure to Type 2 Diabetes, but it requires some self motivation. To get rid of it, a person has to exercise a lot and constantly be eating healthy. In fact, in a study, people with Type 2 Diabetes exercised for 175 minutes a week and had only 1,200 to 1,800 calories per day. In result, 10% of the people got off of their Diabetes medications. Considering the fact that only a few people were able to get rid of it, that shows that it would involve a lot of hard work and discipline to fight off this disease. Type 2 Diabetes is a terrible thing to have but people who have it should not give up with trying to get rid of it because if they try hard enough, they may succeed.
