Warrior News
A Weekly Newsletter for Warrior Families and Students
November 8, 2019
Greetings Warrior Families and Friends,
It has been another action-packed week for our Muskego Warriors! Last weekend our girls Cross Country team successfully defended their State Champion title and brought home yet another victory for our Warrior Nation. Our FBLA collected hundreds of hats, coats, and mittens for a great cause and our current FBLA president traveled to the national conference to build on her outstanding skill set.
Our students also completed their second Academic and Career Planning activity session of the year. Our freshman focused their learning on the importance of their online reputation and the power of social media. Our sophomore learning centered on Fair Use laws and copyright infringement. Our juniors discussed the importance of managing your digital privacy and protecting yourself. Our seniors discussed the transition to life after high school and included several technology tips on transferring files and information developed as a student. Please take some time to speak with your student about their major takeaways from these important learning opportunities.
Make sure to get to MHS tonight to support our Warriors in action! We host Franklin in our level 3 playoff battle and our drama club has it’s opening night performance of The Election. There are still tickets available for both Saturday shows.
Continue to check out our webpage to see what events are happening next week at MHS. Our community support is second to none! Your support and energy make Muskego High School the special place that it is.
Have a great weekend and we hope to see you soon.
Go Warriors!

Welcome New Associate Principal
Hello Muskego High School families! My name is Kristine Springer, and I am thrilled to be your new Associate Principal. Although my primary responsibility is to support students with last names beginning with Pe-Z, I am looking forward to working with all of our students. This week, I have already had the opportunity to chat about Warrior gear with some of our fantastic FBLA members, feel goosebumps listening to our chorale share their voices, engage in conversations with students about their passion for athletics, cars, game club, etc., and overall feel extremely welcomed by the student body. I am already starting to feel at home in Muskego and look forward to learning more each day about the amazing Warrior family!
Planning for College & Post-Secondary Options
On Tuesday, November 12th, we will be hosting a Planning for College & Post-Secondary Options event in the MHS Performing Arts Center and breakout classrooms. This event will begin promptly at 6:00pm. We will have Admission Representatives from Carroll University, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and Waukesha County Technical College. These representatives will speak about the college planning and admission process. Our CONNECT Academy representative will speak about our Internship and Youth Apprentice Programs. Military Representatives will be available as well. This is an excellent opportunity to gain insight on how to best plan for the college application process and explore post-secondary options. We look forward to seeing you there! Any questions can be addressed to Mr. Smith, School Counselor, 262-971-1790.

October has been an amazing month for the WarriorBots. The Safety Team has newly implemented a safety minute into every meeting. This month we taught our members about fire safety, our safety glasses and long hair policy, our safety dance, and safety data sheets. The Business Team has been working hard and we are two-thirds of the way to our $30,000 goal. The Programming Team has been splitting up into smaller groups and learning the specifics of programming with Java. The Electrical Team has been learning new electrical techniques and organizing electrical utilities for the build season. The Mechanical Team has been designing and creating new mechanisms to teach our new members and to have the experience for future competitions.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this email. The business team will be switching emails to warriorbots6421@gmail.com. We will still receive emails through our other email but would greatly appreciate your cooperation in making this switch. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email us back at warriorbots6421@gmail.com. Thank you for supporting the WarriorBots, Sincerely, The Muskego High School Robotics Team WarriorBots 6421 Jessica Miron Anabella Maupin
