From the Office
School Absences
If your child will be absent from school, please be sure to call our absence hotline outside of school hours or directly to the main office during school hours.
Medical appointment slips will excuse your child's absence. The excusal slip can be faxed or emailed to the school.
- Absence Line (269) 415-5398
- Fax Number (269) 415-5301
- Email katie.wisneski@ppps.org
Student Illness
- When calling in a sick child, please remember to include what symptoms your child is experiencing. This is important for keeping records of illnesses.
- If your child is sent home from school with any symptoms, they may not return to school until the symptoms subside for a full 24hrs.
- If your child goes to the doctor, the office will need a letter to dismiss your child's absence from school.
- If your child is showing any flu-like symptoms please keep them home.
- Please do not send your child to school if they need medication for flu-like symptoms.
Daily Schedule Changes
If you have any changes to your child's pickup or bus schedule, please call the office by 2pm on full days and 11:15 am on half days even if you have emailed your child's teacher. With the change of the 2021 school hours, the teachers do not always have time to check emails during school the day. The same process should be used with the transportation office as well as the B.A.S.E. director.

Early Elementary Technology
Paw Paw Early Elementary students have been working hard in technology class.
Check out what we have done and what we look forward to doing in the next few weeks.
It’s STEM-tastic News!!
In STEM we have been learning about Forces and Motion. Students know that a force is a push or a pull, and that there are many types of forces in our world. More specifically in our classroom, students have been exploring: Gravitational forces, Lift, Magnetism, Tension forces, Balanced and Unbalanced forces. Please model curiosity by continuing to ask your child about their experiences in STEM.
Health & P.E.
Health
In Health Class, we are learning about the importance of Nutrition and Physical Activity. We will focus on eating more vegetables and making sure we get exercise every day!
P.E.
In Physical Education, we will be doing a Manipulatives Unit for practicing skills and getting exercise. We will use scarves for catching, throwing, and juggling, hula hoops, bean bags and also using the parachute for whole group activities. We will continue to work on locomotor movements, and practice exercises for fitness and flexibility.
Please remember to wear gym shoes on the days your child has these classes.
Or, even better and easier, plan on wearing gym shoes daily, as your child has recess every day and it will be safer, playing at recess, wearing gym shoes:)
*We could use donations of gym shoes to have in the gym for those who do not wear them or have them. If you would be willing to donate shoes, please send them in your child’s backpack labeled for me in the gym. We could use shoes from sizes 5-3 (youth). I will keep the shoes in the gym and have children use them when they come without gym shoes. I also might give them to a child who does not have shoes. Velcro is so helpful, rather than tie shoes, as so many don’t know how to tie shoes yet. THANK YOU in advance for this!!!
Sincerely,
Mindy Brennan
