Busy and Fun Times Ahead!
Dear Altadena Eliot Arts Families,
To quote one of our parents, "this is the time of year where everything seems to speed up." It's going to be very busy but also really, really fun!
We had a very successful Great CA Shakeout Drill on both sites Thursday and of course our Unity Day activities were full of bright orange fun! There's so much coming up this week, let's get right to it.
Coming Up this Week:
First up, it's Red Ribbon Week at both sites with fun dress up days. Please read the flyer below for all the details.
Monday: Cafe con Scheckel at 8:30 am in the Eliot Library. Come find out about what this new magnet grant means for all our students in K-8 grades.
Tuesday: Flu Clinic at AAM 8:30-10:00 am. Parents and students may also sign up to get their Moderna and Pfizer COVID booster at https://myturn.ca.gov/appointment-select?config=343b47b0-934b-41cd-96e7-d4957d0bcd0c. Also on Tuesday, Music Notes assembly for all middle school students for Red Ribbon Week.

Wednesday: Principal's/Gospel Choir practice begins 2:15-4:15 pm at AAM for those in the choir.
Eat at El Patron to support our middle School PTSA!

Friday: Trunk or Treat and Movie Night at the elementary and Haunted Hallway and Creepy Carnival at the middle school. Please see the flyers below for more information.

Thank you for all the great submissions for the Show Your Voice, Reflections Art Contest. Sponsored by the PTA. I will accept Reflection entries through Monday, October 24th. You can submit your entry form and art work in person, by emailing Ms Camargo, or using the google form in the S'more. Be sure to fill out the entry form and complete the artist statement explaining how your art work demonstrates how you Show Your Voice.
I look forward to seeing how you will Show Your Voice through the arts.

Congratulations to our football team for making it to the playoffs. If you are planning to attend this game. Check the LEARNs information board for details.
Oct. 28th ASB is hosting a haunted hallway and an all star basketball game in the gym after school. Don't miss it!
CAP College Access Plan is helping students secure free scholarships for college. This club is open to all 7th and 8th grades every Tuesday after school
GIRLs only science club. begins this Wednesday after school in room 224. Don't miss it.

Open Enrollment!
- Open Enrollment Dates for the 2023-24 school year are now posted on our website. All current PUSD families will receive a hard copy of the Open Enrollment calendar in the mail in mid-October, and we will send extras to your school sites in October.
- Sibling and Program Priority Registration applications go live online Oct. 24, 2022, 9AM - Nov. 14, 2022, 4PM.

Calling all Huskies!
A party is what you make it, and your PTSA is working to make the Creepy Carnival the first great party of the year at Eliot. That being said, we need volunteers and donations to make this happen. We have games and contests and food and prizes lined up. The price of admission for the Haunted Hallway gets you into the Carnival. The price for games and food is low. There is a "Sign-up-genius" so what are you waiting for?
