What a great first week of school! We all enjoyed having the kids back in the building, and they did an amazing job with our new procedures. I am looking forward to seeing the sun again and getting to have lunch outside and time to enjoy our new playground.

Next week we will have students participate in the district FastBridge assessments. These assessments are done 1:1 for our K-1 students, and our 2-5 students will do the assessments using their iPads. There is one math assessment and one reading assessment.

Some reminders for next week...please remember to send in a towel. It does not need to be fancy; students will use it when we eat outside and any other time students are outside to learn. Also, please have your child bring a water bottle, and if you have an extra one, it would be great to have a back-up. We are using the bottle filling stations and not the hand touch fountains to reduce touching and the spread of germs. Also, your child needs to bring their iPad, crayon, and charger to school every day. Please use the nice plastic case that fits everything well and adds a layer of protection.

Thank you for your patience and grace as we learn new procedures and adjust to our new normal. I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Reporting Absences

If a student is ill or unable to attend a course for any reason (including doctors appointments), it is important for a parent/guardian to report the absences to our attendance office by calling the front desk at 913-667-1800 the day of the absence as early as possible. This helps our teaching staff to also know when a student will be gone and not in a live Zoom lesson.

Car Loop Assistance

We would LOVE your help with morning car loop. If you are looking for a way to volunteer at the school this year, then this is your opportunity!
