Gustav Klimt is the focus of our Meet the Masters program currently
Currently, our students are learning about Gustav Klimt
Gustav Klimt (July 14, 1862 – February 6, 1918) was an Austrian symbolist painter. Klimt is noted for his paintings, murals, sketches, and other objets d'art. Klimt has also had tremendous influence in the fashion industry, in part due to the ornate patterns and rich colors he incorporated in his art. This is the inspiration for our current student project- a Klimt-inspired art smock that the children will be able to use for the rest of the school year.
The excitement is palpable across all grade levels, male and female. Even our preschoolers are working on their own art smocks, embellished with hand stitching! The project seems to be engaging our students in some of their most natural desires- to work with one's hands, and produce something uniquely their own. Stay tuned for the finished products...
Going, Going, Gone!
Our uniform closet is overflowing with clothing. It's time for some early spring cleaning.
Over the next two weeks, we invite you all to stop by the closet at drop off or pick up to see what we have "in stock". When we return in February, we plan to do a major donation of clothing to our Planet Aid box.
So, if your student's pants seem to be looking a little short these days, if you need some polos for the change in uniforms this spring, or you'd just like an extra dress shirt or two for a back up, we urge you to stop by the school in the next week or two.
Did you know!?
Speaking of the Planet Aid box, did you know that every time you make a donation to our Planet Aid box, St Brigid's Kitchen receives a small donation?!
So next time you have clothing or shoes you need to part with, we hope you will consider tossing them in the yellow bin out in our parking lot. It's a win for everyone!
Recycling and donating your clothes will keep them out of the trash and into the hands of someone who can give them a second life.

We are looking for 1-2 more coaches for GOTR... Can you help?
Right now, we need a team of coaches to help prepare for the season. There is a coaches training in Brattleboro tomorrow at the high school if you happen to be available!
Please contact Tammy Richards, our head coach, for more details at tamikoch1@yahoo.com
Time to submit your Box Tops clippings
And if you haven't done so already, please consider downloading the new Box Tops app so you can do away with the clipping and simply scan your receipts. How easy is that?!
Tough week for the Saint Michael Saints basketball team
by Phil Leggiere
The Saint Michael Saints High School basketball team had another busy week playing two tough opponents, the Dublin School of Dublin, NH on the road Tuesday, January 21 and High Mowing School at home Wednesday, January 22.
With Stephen Borst sidelined by an injury suffered at practice Monday, the Saints struggled offensively in both efforts.
Though they held the score tied in the first half against The Dublin School, the Saints were plagued by erratic shooting. Their many missed shots allowed Dublin to open up an insurmountable lead and run up a decisive 41-19 victory. Thomas Duchaney was high scorer for the Saints with seven points.
Undaunted, the Saints brought a spirited effort to their home game against an imposingly aggressive and physically formidable High Mowing team. Though outmatched in size and speed the Saints kept the game tight in the early going, but once again had trouble finding their offensive groove . Facing High Mowing’s overpowering offense and defense the Saints played their hearts out to the final buzzer despite the lopsided 63-23 final score against them.
Next week the Saints play both games at home at Austine School facing Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School (PVCICS) Tuesday, January 28 and Hartsbrook Waldorf School on Wednesday, January 29.
Come out and cheer our players on!
