PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia ora tātou,
Wow! What a week we have had. It has been wonderful seeing our children involved in dance lessons, in Matariki activities and in all their regular sporting and cultural events. There are more coming up over the last two weeks, so keep an eye on Hero and on our Facebook page for updates. Good luck to our Interschool Swimmers tomorrow.
I am looking forward to Friday night when I get to watch our Senior Kapahaka perform at Te Takeretanga o kura-hau-pō. See you there!
We are finding that winter ills, chills and the like are taking a big toll on our tamariki. We have had many children away each day. Thank you for keeping them home when they are unwell and for picking them up when we call. We hope they get well as soon as possible and can return to school.
With the number of changes we have had, we did have to cancel the Duffy visit, as we could not match their times with ours. All children were given their new, free Duffy Books (thank you Mainfreight - our amazing sponsor) yesterday. Please chat with your child about what they chose.
We have 3-way conferences coming up next week, including on the Teachers' Only Day next Monday. If you would like help booking a conference time for your child, please contact the office.
Next week we have our Movie and Popcorn reward for all Whanaiu House as they achieved their goals this term. In next week's newsletter, I will list the Rooms and the movies for your information. Teachers are able to select suitable movies from the G and PG classifications. Please pop in and see me if you have any queries about movie choices.
Have a great week, and stay safe, warm and well. Kia pai to wiki.
Ngā mihi
