National Preparedness Month

"Get a kit. Make a plan. Be informed." -American Red Cross

National Preparedness Month is a nationwide effort encouraging individuals, families, businesses and communities to work together and take action to prepare for emergencies.

Help yourself. Help your community.

FEMA encourages citizens to be prepared to be self-reliant in an emergency for 3-7 days without utilities and electricity, water service, access to a supermarket or local services, or sometimes even without response from police, fire or rescue. To help your community, consider joining the Montgomery County Medical Reserve Corps, a volunteer organization dedicated to strengthening public health, community resilience, and the preparation and response for local emergencies.
