Last 2018-19 ARSA Legend
Ranger Nation Pride! ONE BAND. ONE SOUND.
In December 2000, Congress passed and then-President Bill Clinton signed into law the National Moment of Remembrance Act. It called for people to participate in a “symbolic act of unity” and pause at 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day to remember the men and women “who died in pursuit of freedom and peace.”
~ Newsweek Online US - Memorial Day
Very heavy price to pay which allows us this day with family, friends, or a day of solitude. Please take a moment today, to stop and remember why and how significant this day of remembrance is to us all.
Week of May 28th
Principal's Message
It is our final days with our ARSA Rangers this week! We have had a year full of learning, both for our scholars and for ourselves as educators. We have all been stretched this year! Enjoy these final days with them, take a moment to share how they have impacted you over this year and what you see in them as amazing young people. They will come back to us matured and alot "cooler" in August :-), and our Class of 2023 will be in the hands of another set of dedicated DISD educators.
They will be excited as we are too and we want to make sure that we pay attention to the balance of what is needed to close out our year strong. We are encouraging and clear in our expectations as they finish their last set of ACP assessments. These assessments are important and we want our scholars to do their very BEST.
We also want to be paying attention to their behavior and conversations. The last few days of school are when scholars can plan to have their own version of the end of the year "celebrations". If you see or hear something, SAY SOMETHING. Do not dismiss their banter or jokes, address them and if you feel as though it is something that might amount to foolishness, tell an administrator or monitor ASAP. We were able to get ahead of two things last week because the adults at ARSA were communicating and we had a plan to circumvent their "plan".
We are powerful together as a team and when we approach our work this way, nothing can lead us off course. Thank you in advance for the last few days of peace and productivity!!!
