Pushing Forward
To the Carlisle Families:
Today is the first day of spring! This should give us hope as as we push forward. Please stay in the loop with us, we will not only get through this -we will shine on the other side of this.
Currently, our teachers are hard at work planning remotely to provide great learning opportunities for your children. Please give them grace as we go forward.
Stay Connected
Plano ISD is implementing a text messaging option to provide our community with more ways to receive school and district information. Opt in today by texting “Y” to 67587.
If you don’t opt in manually, and the district has a cell phone number for you, you will receive a text message from Plano ISD in the coming days inviting you to opt in. The message will read:
“Plano Independent School District messages. Reply Y to confirm, HELP 4 info. Msg&data rates may apply. Msg freq varies. schoolmessenger.com/tm”
Mobile App
Another available communication resource is the Plano ISD Mobile App. The app is a powerful tool to help keep families informed and connected. For more information on the app, including download instruction, visit www.pisd.edu/mobileapp.

Information on Chromebook checkout will be coming soon.
Technology
Technology Access
In an effort to better understand and support the needs of our community, we are asking a few questions related to Plano ISD students' collective ability to access technology outside of school. We fully recognize the irony of using an online survey to gather this information. Please be assured that survey responses will be coupled with additional data collected using "offline" methods to inform our decisions and plans of action. Access and share this survey at: www.pisd.edu/techaccess.
Meal Assistance
Meal Assistance
We want to make sure that all students have access to meals during the district’s closure. Adjustments to this schedule may be made as needed, so please watch for updated communications and regularly check the Plano ISD website for new information.
Beginning MONDAY, March 23, students will receive both breakfast and lunch at the same time. Families will only be required to come up to distribution sites one time per day between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Census Information
Census
While it may not seem like a priority right now, the Census continues to be an important initiative for Plano ISD as it drives about $38 million of the district’s funding. Census information is being mailed to homes soon and will include instructions on how households can respond online, by phone or by mail. For more information on the Census, visit www.pisd.edu/census2020.
