Effects of Cyberbullying
Kids who are cyberbullied are more likely to:
- Skip school
- Be unwilling to attend school
- Receive poor grades
- Have lower self-esteem
- Have more health problems
Prevention & Awareness
- Know the sites that your kids in.
- Ask what they are doing or going on.
- Install a parent filtering software.
- Tell your kids if they are getting cyberbully
- Put a password on any device so you have an control of it.
Establishing Rules
- Do not share anything that could hurt or embarrass themselves or others.
- Encourage kids to think about why they post picture online.
- Tell kids to keep their passwords safe and not to share with friends
Reporting a Cyberbulling
- Do not respond a cyberbullying messages.
- Take a picture or save the message that the cyberbully is saying and used it for evidence.
- Block the person who is cyberbullying

- Visit social media safety centers to learn how to block users.
- Change settings to control who can contact you.
Report to your local Law Enforcement
- Threats of violence.
- Stalking and hate crimes.
- Taking a photo/video of someone in a place where he/she would expect privacy.
Report to your School
- The school can use the information to help inform prevention and response strategies.
- The schools are required to address cyberbullying in their anti-bullying policy
