Unit Plan
At the beginning of the unit
Students will draw on prior knowledge of technology devices designed to help around the school and home. Students will view ideas through you tube, PowerPoint, and websites to support their learning. Students will gain knowledge on how the devices help us around the home or school. Students will develop an understanding on whether devices are part of a system (peripheral) or hardware/software.
Students will re-familiarise their learning of creating PowerPoint and using a microphone (peripheral device) to transfer their voice to each slide to explain their imaginative futuristic device.
By the end of the unit
Students will be able to explore their imagination to create a device that will help around either the home or school. The will understand what is a peripheral device is. They can explain how the device can be used by a student, parent, teacher etc and present this new technology to their class and teacher.Assessments

Monitor understanding:
- What is technology
- How can technology help around the school and home
- Feedback on draft of technology device before submitting for final mark
Summative:
Task Name: Technology Device
- Completed presentation using PowerPoint (5 slides max)
- Embedding your voice to present the following
- Name of Technological device.
- How does it work and who does it suit to use it?
- What are the benefits to community & environment.
- Why is it better?
