A Message from Mr. Wright
Dear Fitzgerald Elementary Community,
We will reach the end of the first quarter on November 3. This newsletter will reiterate actions you are encouraged to take to learn of your child's progress to date. In addition, please reach out to their teacher to schedule a conference. Our elementary conference day is November 6.
As a reminder, please stay involved in your child's learning journey. The grade book is available for you to monitor their progress before the end of the quarter on November 3. By asking your child questions such as "How do you know?", "Explain that," "Why?", and "How so?", you can support the development of critical thinking skills and enhance their learning experience.
To stay updated on your child's classroom activities, it's important to obtain the pairing code for their Canvas account. This code allows you to access their learning materials and see what they are studying on a weekly basis. You can obtain the pairing code by reaching out to your child's teacher, who will provide you with the necessary information. By having this code, you can actively engage in your child's education and support their learning journey.
Moving forward, I encourage you to maintain close communication with your child's classroom teacher. Feel free to reach out to them to celebrate achievements, ask questions, or express any concerns you may have. Our teachers are here to partner with you. If you require further assistance beyond the classroom teacher, please contact Mrs. Banya, the Grade Level Administrator for grades 1, 2, and 4, or Mr. Harrington, the Grade Level Administrator for grades K, 3, and 5. For inquiries related to special education and ESOl, Dr. King is available to assist you. Our staff is trained to provide support and guidance. If you still have unmet needs after utilizing these resources, do not hesitate to contact me. You can find all administrative contact information on the school website and the attached handout.
We are off to a fantastic start this year, and I am thrilled to continue working with our wonderful community. Our goal is to achieve 76% or more of our students passing in math, and 78% or more passing in reading and science with proficient and advanced scores. Please review the handout attached below to learn more about our plan to accomplish these targets.
Once again, thank you for your ongoing support.
Best regards,
George Wright
Principal, Fitzgerald Elementary
