Migrant/Bilingual Summer School Teachers PK-7
- The number of positions to be determined.
- Hours negotiable (see hours below), from June 29th to August 18th
Staff may apply to lead one or more grade levels, based on their own preferences. All teachers will need to commit to up to 4 hours of staff meetings prior to the beginning of summer school. Additionally, per grade level, the expectation will be:
- up to 4 hours of prep prior to the start of the program
- up to 4 hours of time spent selecting or designing assessments prior to the start of the program
- 2-4 hours per week of small/large group class instruction
- hours per week working with grade-level para(s) to train and review data
- up to 4 hours per week planning group and individual lessons
- up to 4 hours at the end of the program to report progress data to program staff
All hours will be submitted via timesheet and will be reported by activity. If a teacher needs additional hours for planning based on the unique needs of students, they may request permission from the program director.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Migrant/Bilingual Summer School Teachers PK-7
DEPARTMENT: Migrant and Bilingual
REPORTS TO: Federal Programs Director
WORK DAYS: Negotiable (see hours below), from June 29th to August 18th
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide and design instruction in a virtual learning environment, meeting the data, assessment, and instructional requirements of the state migrant program.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Meet with program staff to review program requirements and instructional expectations and options prior to the beginning of summer school.
Create or select an assessment for target students to determine baseline levels and to measure growth.
Ensure that all students receive the pre- and post-assessments.
Hold small or large group virtual classes so that all students have access once per week (this will vary by grade level, as group size and class duration should match the developmental needs of students).
Design instruction to be delivered individually twice per week by a paraeducator.
Share schedules, assessment tools, and lesson plans with program staff
Meet weekly with the paraeducator to gather data, monitor progress, and to train paraeducator in the instruction to be delivered that week.
Communicate with program director, m/b staff, and summer school colleagues regarding any needs or concerns as they arise.
Compile data and report to program staff on performance (pre- and post-), attendance, and program evaluation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have a valid Washington state teaching certificate.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES (preferred):
Bilingual/biliterate
Virtual teaching experience and/or experience with virtual learning platforms
Curriculum development and/or instructional design experience
Understanding of assessments
MANDATORY CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Successful clearance of the FBI and Washington State Patrol fingerprint background check.
- Successful Washington State Sexual Misconduct clearance.
- Completion of Federal I-9, Employment Verification Eligibility form.
